After my birthday party on 13/6/09, I celebrated my birthday again on the actual day 16/6/09. It's good having a party which doesn't fall on ur actual bdae cos you actually get to celebrate it twice. lol. After this 21 milestone, I expect I won't like celebrating birthdays after that. =x Maybe just pluck one candle on my birthday cake? lol.
On the actual day:
Went to the Peranakan Museum. All I ever reached was the doorstep, going to come back on this coming saturday.
The reason is because I went to Asian Civilisation Museum instead, for the KangXi exhibition which will be ending really soon. No photos were allowed to be taken in the Kangxi exhibition, so thus, just this.
Walked in the ACM for a few hours, then it's time for dinner. Khim treated me to hotel buffet at Cafe Brio, Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel.
Started with soup. Some cream of cauliflower with something thingy. Can't remember what. yummy.
We faithfully do bread and butter to go along with the soup too :)
Had drunken prawn. The soup is very savoury and filled with prawn sweetness. They kill the prawns on the spot, so I just had one bowl to ease my guilt.
Nasi Lemak. The fat thing at the bottom is the otak. In Nasi Lemak, I love the otak most. yums. This is pretty spicy. Prawn crackers are nice and crispy too.
Another plate of nasi lemak with kebak in bun. The kebak is not fantastic though. The bun is a bit too hard. Maybe left in the air for very long.
Rice again. with peranakan dishes, such as buah kelak. The rice is pretty nice. I love rice that is grainy and a bit hard.
Taupok wrapped rice. haha , actually it's from the jap section, but I don't like it, so Khim took it.
Desserts! The chendol is nice :) funny how things seem nicer when they are packaged properly.
Peranakan Laksa. Not spicy.
My salad with thousand island's dressing. I love thousand island!! A tad too much though =x Khim's single scoop chocolate icecream with coloured rice.
My red bean dessert with coconut milk. Some mango thingy which Khim fancy.
The chocolate shooter which I like.
Chocolate with raspberry cake, and kueh lapis. Wash it all down with tea.
More food. Pineapple tarts and stuff for choc fondue.
My single scoop strawberry icecream with peanuts and orange sauce.
Took more pineapple tarts. They are really good. I wish I can tabao some home :( End of dinner. Went to Mount Faber to walk for a while to digest all that food, then home sweet home.
The most exciting part of the day - opening presents. haha. Maybe I just love tearing paper and this gives me a good reason to do so.

Metal puzzle and a pen with my name on it, with courtesy from Han xiang, another old time friend.
A super large card from my sec sch friends. They customised the card by printing and pasting my pictures on it. Thanks alot!!
Another super large card, this time from Rongxuan, Luoyi and Jacky. They didn't write anything inside cos they claim tt it will spoil the card. haha.
So they substitute with this hand written card!

A Guess wallet from Huimin, Shi ting, Ming xian and Fangshi.
A birthday card, a book about cats, and an aromatic eye pillow from Jinghui and Jon. I must be having really dark eye circles for them to give me an eye pillow. haha.

A hand-sketched potrait of me from ah gong, Kwan chet. He even labelled the potrait "grand daughter" in chinese (look at the left top).
Canon photo printer from Han xiang, ah gong, yi long, Guanzhu, Yihao, Danny, Zhao ying, Jiun ru, Daphne, Rui min, Jen, Wei Ting (I hope I didn't miss anyone out). The gift is complete with accessories such as the printing paper and ink :)

My 21st birthday celebration @ 3:12 PM
